MIDI FEATURES MIDI Features
Stereo Editor will detect a MIDI interface during loading, if one is connected. You are then prompted whether you wish to play through the normal Sidplayer or through the MIDI keyboard (NOTE: if you have the internal SID chip modification in your computer, make certain the SID chip is OFF before loading Stereo Editor for use with a MIDI interface).
SIDs may be loaded as usual, and played through the MIDI keyboard (if MIDI play was selected). The MIDI player supports tied notes, and it recognizes some parameter settings within the SID such as TEM, JIF, TPS, PNT, HLD, HED/TAL and DEF/END/CAL. All other parameters are ignored. Please refer to your MIDI keyboard and interface manuals for details on MIDI settings and modes.
Note entry can also be done from the MIDI keyboard. Be certain you select General Modes from the Main Menu and change the "Auto MIDI Entry" option to YES.
Scroll to each voice using the up/down cursor key, and enter notes from the MIDI keyboard. Each time a key is depressed, the pitch is automatically entered on the voice line being monitored.
No attempt has been made to reflect note duration. All notes entered from the MIDI keyboard are entered as quarter notes. Duration changes must be done manually.
Time Signature may be set from the Song Parameter options on the Main Menu, and measure markers will be automatically inserted when entering notes from the MIDI keyboard.
