LOADING STEREO EDITOR Loading
You may boot the Stereo Editor from any Commodore-compatible drive and from any device number (8-11). If you are using a 1541/71 or 100% compatible drive (NOT the 1581), type the following to load the Stereo Editor:
LOAD "STEREO EDITOR",8,1 [Press RETURN]
This loading method will employ a fast loader. If you're booting from the 1581 or a less compatible drive, use the following command:
LOAD "SLOWBOOT",8,1 [Press RETURN] After a few seconds, you should see the screen turn black and loading will continue, after which the Editor screen will appear.
If this is the first time you are using the program, you will be prompted to insert your Enhanced Sidplayer disk (the C-64 side, which is normally the back side of the diskette). The "SID.OBJ.64" file, which Stereo Editor uses as the basis of its player, will be copied to your Stereo Editor disk for future use; so it will not be necessary to have your Enhanced Sidplayer disk handy for future Stereo Editor sessions.
The Stereo Editor automatically detects the presence of a second SID chip (either an internal modification or the SID Symphony Cartridge) and will correctly set the chip address. It also checks for a Passport/Sonus or Sequential/compatible interface and gives you the option to boot up with the MIDI player installed in lieu of the normal SID player.
