ENTERING NOTES

Note selection is accomplished through either keyboard entry or joystick entry (joystick should be plugged into port #2). MIDI keyboard entry may also be selected (see MIDI FEATURES section). The following keys may be used:

[R] - Toggles between a pitch (C-B) and a rest.

[A]-[G] - Selects a pitch

[0]-[7] - Selects the octave

[SHIFT -], [-], [English Pound Sign], [+], [SHIFT +] - Select accidentals, from double-flat to double-sharp.

[W], [H], [Q], [8], [S], [T], [9] - Select note duration (whole note through sixty-fourth note.

[SHIFT-T] - Toggles triplet

[.], [SHIFT .] - Single- or double-dotted note toggles.

[U], [V] - Utility or utility-voice durations, respectively.

To enter a note with the current attributes, press the RETURN key or the joystick fire button. The joystick can also be used to select note pitches and durations. Push the joystick up and down to change pitch/octave or left and right to increase or decrease the note duration.

The Stereo Editor remembers any accidentals entered for each pitch in the same measure, and the accidental is automatically placed until the next measure marker is entered. Accidental mode may be turned off from the General Modes menu on the Main Menu screen.
